About Bombino Nero Rosato

The Bombino Nero grape is native of Puglia.

The name may derive from the shape of the bunch, which recalls a child (bambino) with raised arms.

The name Bombino could also mean "little bomb" in reference to the shape of its clusters.

Bombino Nero is also known as "Buonvino" (Good Wine) due to the high must yield.

Bombino Nero grape is atypical of Puglia: despite beeing late harvested (mid-October) in a region known for its hot climate, the grapes rarely reach optimal ripeness, maintaining a high level of acidity and low sugar.

Bombino Nero grapes have a thin skin with little color (pigment), unsuited for red wine but perfect for rosé wine production.

Bombino Nero is not a genetic mutation of Bombino Bianco (White) as originally thought.

Low tannins, good acidity and an explosion of fruit makes Bombino Nero Rosato easy to drink.

Climate

Puglia has a predominantly Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The region's flat plains, rolling hills, and proximity to the Adriatic and Ionian Seas contribute to a variety of microclimates.

The warmth and abundance of sunlight make Puglia well-suited for grape cultivation.
