The Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC was created in October 2010.
It has a ruby cherry color looking much like a red wine.
The DOC covers cherry-red rosé wines from Abruzzo that have earlier been labeled Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Cerasuolo.
Abruzzo has a mediterranean climate, with hot summers and cold winters, which makes it ideal for growing wine grapes.
The soil varies from clayey and calcareous in the coastal areas to rocky and sandy in the mountains.
