About Tavel AOC

Tavel wines are only available in Rosé. The Tavel AOC is the only appellation in the Rhône Valley to produce nothing but Rosé.

Tavel Rosé can only be made from fields in Tavel commune - and a few parcels in Roquemaure.

Allowed grape varieties:

Grenache (up to 60%), Cinsault (min. 15%), Syrah, Mourvedre, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Carignan (max. 10%) and Calitor (very rare).

No grape varietiy must count for more than 60% of the content.

Alcohol: Minumum 11%.

Côtes du Rhône South

In Côtes du Rhône South, the main grape is Grenache.

The area is most famous for its GSM wines: A blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre.


Alcohol can be addictive. Always drink in moderation.
