The Bordeaux Glass was designed for enjoying fuller-bodied, tannic red wines. They are taller than other red wine glasses, and has a slimmer bowl. The tall size allows the bouquet of the wine to develop, smooth out rough edges, play down tannins, and allow the wine to achieve balance. The slimmer bowl directs the wine to the back of your mouth for a maximum taste. |
Egri Bikavér is a robust, full-bodied red wine, made primarily from Hungarian grapes.
The name (Bull's Blood of Eger) originates from the legend that the soldiers of Eger fortified themselves with this wine before successfully defending the castle against invading Ottoman forces.
Egri Bikavér wines are known for their deep red color and powerful structure, with firm tannins and good aging potential. The blend typically includes Kékfrankos (Blaufränkisch), Kadarka, and other local grapes, along with some international grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This combination results in a complex wine with rich fruit flavors, spicy notes, and a distinct earthy character.
Egri Bikavér holds a significant place in Hungarian winemaking history and remains one of the country's most celebrated and cherished red wines, appreciated both locally and internationally.
