Mataro is called Mourvèdre in France and Monastrell in Spain.
The name Mataro is also used in Catalonia (Spain), in Australia and in California (USA).
Dark Berries, Plum, Jam, and Licorice are typical Mataro flavors.
Herbs (Thyme). Flowers (Violets, Roses). Spices (Pepper).

Mataro is a red wine grape that grows in many regions around the world:
In France, the grape is called Mourvèdre.
In Rhone, it is a vital component in the famous GSM blend (Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre).
In Spain, the grape is called Monastrell, and is the fourth most widely planted red wine grape.
In USA, Australia, and South Africa it is often called Mataro.
