Different Grapes and different Production Methods
create different Wine Styles:
White wines are made from white grapes (light-colored white grape varieties).
A few white wines are made from black grapes. The secret is to remove the skins immediately.
White wines get their flavors from the grape juice.
Grapes are pressed quickly to drain the juice away from the skins.
The alcohol content of a white wine is between 10% and 14%.
Chardonnay is the most planted white wine grape in the world. It was born in France, but is now grown wherever wine is produced.
Typical flavors are Citrus, Green Fruit, Peach, Bread and Butter.
The Sauvignon Blanc grape originates from Loire and Bordeaux in France, but now it grows all over the world.
Sauvignon Blanc is a dry, zesty, and tastefull white wine with flavors of Citrus, Peach, Gooseberry, Grass and Herbs.
Red wines are made from black grapes (dark-colored red wine grape varieties).
During fermentation, the juice and the skins are in contact. The skins release both color, tannins and flavors.
The alcohol content of a red wine is between 12% and 15%.
Cabernet Sauvignon originates from Bourdeaux (France), but is also popular in USA, Australia, Chile, South Africa, and other countries.
Cabernet Sauvignon is a full bodied red wine with high acidity and tannins.
Typical flavors are Black Fruit (Black Currant, Blackberry, Plum), Violets, Pepper, and French Oak.
Pinot Noir is from in Bourgogne (France), but now it grows USA, Australia, New Zealand, and many other countries.
Pinot Noir is a light red wine with low tannins and good acidity. Typical flavors are Red Fruit and Vanilla (if oaked).
Rosé wines get their pink color from a very short contact with the skins (a few hours).
Most rosé wines are made from black grapes.
Provence Rosé is the benchmark for rosé wines globally. It represents the quintessential Mediterranean lifestyle.
Pale pink, crisp, dry, light-bodied, with notes of citrus, red berries, and a hint of minerality.
The grapes used are Grenache (minimum 60%), Cinsault. Syrah. Mourvèdre.
Strawberry, Orange, and Watermelon are typical Provence Rosé flavors.
White Zinfandel is an approachable and affordable entry into rosé wines, especially in the U.S.

It is sweet, light-bodied, with flavors of Strawberries and Watermelon. A great summer wine!
